複数の天然染料を敷き詰め、それらを布で覆い媒染剤を上から垂らしこむことで、下から染料を吸い上げるようにして布を染めた。通常、草木から煮出して抽出した染液に布を浸け込み染め上げて媒染剤に浸して定着させるが今回は上から複数の媒染剤を塗り込むことによって下に敷かれた草木からランダムに色が浮かび上がることを狙った染めを行った。
I spread a plurality of natural dyes and covered them with a cloth, drooped the mordant from above, and dyed the cloth so as to suck up the dye from the bottom. Usually, we soak into dye liquor boiled out from plants and dyed it up and soak it in mordant to fix it. This time, I painted several mordant from above to make color emerge randomly from plants below.
